Extendable oak dining tables
An extendable table solves the household that seats four every day and twelve over the holidays — without keeping a three-metre table in the room all year.

Why solid oak on an extendable table
On extendable tables the difference between solid timber and veneer shows first at the joint. Every time the top is parted and closed the edge takes wear — on veneer the layer chips and cannot be repaired, while a solid oak edge is simply sanded back and re-oiled.
The leaf is cut from the same batch of timber as the main top and goes through the same drying and oiling, so colour and grain still match after years of use. Store it in the same room as the table, not in a cellar or garage, so the moisture content of the two does not drift apart.
Like the rest of the range, Lux is supplied in four shades — natural oak, light brown, brown and dark brown — with oak or black metal legs.
What is the difference between Lux and Aria?
Lux has a 2 cm top and a built-in aluminium mechanism; closed it is 140–210 cm long, and 200–290 cm with its 60 or 80 cm leaf. Aria has a thicker 2.5 cm top on crossed oak legs; closed it is 160–220 cm long, and 220–320 cm with a leaf of up to 100 cm. Lux is lighter and slimmer-looking, Aria heavier and suited to larger gatherings.
Which size do I need for my number of guests?
Allow about 60 cm of length per person along the long sides. Lux 140+60 seats four every day and six extended. A 160+80 cm table seats four to six closed and eight extended. The largest Aria, 220+100 cm, seats eight closed and ten to twelve extended.
Will the leaf match the colour of the table?
It is made from the same batch of timber as the main top and goes through the same drying and oiling. Because the leaf spends most of its time put away, the oak darkens slightly more slowly on it in daylight — using the table extended now and then keeps the shade even.
